Equipping Pastors to break the stronghold of voodoo and focus on winning Unreached peoples
A major challenge in French speaking countries in Africa is the lack of workers to focus on the remaining unreached people groups in these countries. Recognizing that training of pastors and missionaries is critical; ACF Missions, Inc. has been supporting training of missionaries in Abidjan, Lome and Porto Novo. In the past four summers, teams from ACF Missions, Inc. have visited Benin Republic on a short-term mission trips. In partnership with Agape Missions Ecole de Mission Inter Africaine au Benin (EMIAB), we organize pastors conferences in Porto-Novo, Sakete and further in-land at Tattanknon envisioning local pastors to focus on unreached people groups in the country. ACF Missions provides ongoing support to EMIAB for the training of nationals who have a call to reach their own people with the gospel of Christ.
Some of the meetings were attended by as much as 1000 local pastors with their wives and assistants. A unique aspect of our ministry in Benin is the workshop for Pastors wives. There is such a hunger in their hearts to learn how they could keep their homes and support their husbands ministry. Obviously many of them are hurting and need encouragement. The conferences also offer us opportunity to challenge Church leaders to take a strong stand against idol worship and voodoo practices that have been undermining the effectiveness of the gospel in Benin.
